Plasmakinetic radiofrequency system (Urology)

Bonss is a state-of-the-art Plasmakinetic Radiofrequency Bipolar System, developed on the basis of neurosurgical technology. The electromagnetic waves generated by the powerful system act with a higher frequency within the same period of action, reducing the thermal damage.

The radiofrequency energy is used to create an electrical arch in the tissue within the electrodes, positive and negative pole, protected by high-density ceramic terminals.

The RF Plasmakinetic technology moves to a higher level if compared to the traditional bipolar or the obsolete monopolar energy.

  • Unlike conventional monopolar / bipolar electrosurgical units, plasmakinetic energy reduces thermal damage as it operates at lower temperatures. The cutting margin is net around the application site, preventing the tissue from sticking to the electrode wire.
  • Shortens surgical as well as patient’s and hospitalisation times.
  • The peculiar energy allows to “clean” the electrode from any tissue residues just with a “swing cut”, after having used the coagulum mode.

The possibility given by the Plasmakinetic Bipolar Energy of using saline solution during resectoscopic interventions, instead of the traditional sorbitol or glycine solution, compulsory in monopolar electrosurgery, allows to keep the integrity of cells sodium concentration, avoiding a potential electrolytic unbalance that could be dangerous for patients.

The bipolar energy produced by the electrosurgical unit, passes through active electrodes allowing to obtain different effects like vaporisation, desiccation of tissues and precise cut.

The energy generated has the power of breaking organic molecular bonds within the tissue, allowing a fast melting of tissues at molecular level at a pretty low temperature of 40-70 °C.

  • The potential loss of blood occurring during interventions that could blur the vision creating high risks, difficulties and longer operation time, is managed thank to the unique characteristic of the plasmakinetic technology coagulum that does not block the vessel. Indeed, through its gradual exsiccation action it narrows vessel surrounding tissues obstructing it in depth. The effectiveness and the validity of this system avoid potential risks of patient’s reintervention.
